Artworks Gallery is presenting "Beyond Metaphor", an exhibit of
painting, sculpture, drawings, and mixed media works by Dave Riedel. Mr. Riedel explains that the exhibit encourages the viewer to "explore the complex connections of man and nature, so that he/she might gain a better appreciation for, if not a better understanding of, how we and our environment are not mutually exclusive, but are rather entangled in a great symphony of metaphor, interacting, crossing, converging, causing and effecting, passing, and crashing into each other in a timeless whirlwind of infinite space." David Riedel graduated in 2003 from WFU with Honors in Studio Art. His aim is for the viewer to take a more in-depth look at society as a whole--to peel back the many layers of humanity and honestly explore their components; ultimately, finding himself or herself within those layers. |
