Sujata Aher

Artist Statement

Sujata Aher Oil over mixed media:

My artistic style is a fusion of abstract and realism, creating a unique and captivating visual narrative. Things happen in the realm of thoughts, emotions and desires before they come in to reality. I like to explore that space and communicate how power of imagination and visualization can help creating their own destiny.

Artist Bio

From a young age, Sujata was drawn to art, finding joy and expression in drawing and painting. She always knew that her purpose in life was to share her gift with the world. It took a significant event—a life-altering accident and the subsequent months of bedrest—to make her reassess her priorities and confront the longing to pursue art. During those six weeks of immobility, Sujata had time to reflect, to listen to that inner voice that had been nudging her for years. She realized that postponing dreams for a future was not the way to live authentically. So, with determination and a newfound sense of purpose, Sujata made the bold decision to leave the corporate world behind and dive headfirst into the world of art.

Sujata’s art became a reflection of her journey—bold, expressive, and filled with emotions. She poured her heart and soul into each piece, drawing inspiration from her experiences and the world around her. As she shared her art with others, Sujata realized the power it had to touch hearts, spark conversations, and bring joy to those who experienced it. She always believed in manifestation and here she is today living her dream life as an artist, inspiring and touching people through her art. She says “You are the creator of your own destiny”. She wants to communicate the power of exploring possibilities and following your passion.

Sujata enjoys nature, fragrant flowers, traveling and hiking. Her studio is beautiful serene space on a lake where she enjoys spending time and creating. Sujata is a graduate of the Mastery Program from The Milan Art Institute. She values her time with other artist at the weekly open drawing sessions at Kara Hammond Studio. She is actively engaged in her community, serving on the Program and Education Board for Associated Artists of Winston-Salem, and has attended Artists Thrive Summit for the past 2 years. Her art has been shown at the High Point Furniture Market, restaurants such as Oh’Calcutta and Bernardins, Red Dog Gallery, Milton Rhodes Center, Spine Gallery and various other community exhibits.
