Life is full of black holes, which suck us in so powerfully that there seems to be no exit.
We often have to walk around the edges to keep from falling in. But sometimes there is
a way out. This series of work explores ideas both of falling in and escaping.
Chris Flory was born in Philadelphia. She has a BFA in Printmaking from Philadelphia
College of Art (1972) and an MFA in Painting from UNC-Greensboro (1992). She has
been a member of Artworks Gallery since 1993, and also makes art for Artomat
machines. She lives in Winston-Salem with her husband and two kittens.
Don Green is a sculptor, artist and craftsman. A fixture for more than 20 years in the Triad art community, Don's work graces public and private collections across the nation. He lives and works in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. He received his MFA from the University of Wisconsin, Madison, Wisconsin in 1966, his BFA from Illinois Wesleyan University in Bloomington, Illinois in 1964, and an Advertising Art Degree from the American Academy of Art, Chicago, Illinois in 1956.
