Barbara Rizza Mellin

Barbara Rizza Mellin is an award-winning writer and artist. She relocated from the Boston area to Winston Salem, NC., where she creates in her home studio.

She has been a member of several arts organizations, including the Printmakers of North Carolina, Women Painters of the Southeast, Oil Painters of America, Associated Artists of Winston Salem, and the AFAS Group. Her paintings and prints have been exhibited in juried shows throughout the United States. She holds a graduate degree in Art History from Harvard U. and writes about the arts for local, national and international publications, including a bi-monthly column for Renaissance magazine and a monthly column on art and travel for WS’s For Seniors Only. She is honored to have received the ARTPOP/ArtsCouncil award 2017 which features her art on a billboard for a year.

Her most recent art focuses on Printmaking and Asian Brush Painting. She loves to reinterpret historical techniques for contemporary audiences.
