Artworks Gallery is presenting a two-person exhibit with acrylic paintings and digital prints by
Lea Lackey-Zachmann and steel and
wood sculpture by Don Green.
Lea Lackey-Zachmann is showing six large acrylic paintings and a
few computer generated prints. The pieces are inspired by the activity
of looking through a microscope at enlarged microscopic forms. They are
colorful and sometimes lively or playful interpretations of minutia that
replicate larger forms found in nature. Lackey-Zachmann has a BA from
Winthrop University in Art and Art Education, and a MFA from UNC-G in
Painting with a minor in Art History. She currently teaches at High
Point University in the Art Department.
Don Green is showing four new Corten steel and concrete 2-3'
outdoor sculpture, plus three earlier concrete and wood sculptures that
relate to the current work of "geometric abstractions". Green was born
in Chicago, has an Advertising and Design degree from the American
Academy of Art in Chicago, a BFA from Illinois Wesleyan University, and
a MFA from the University of Wisconsin at Madison. He established the
Art Dept. at Methodist University in Cumberland County, NC, and worked
as the Art Director at an Advertising Agency in Winston-Salem. He is now a full-time
practicing artist, primarily doing sculpture but with some painting and

Artworks Gallery is open the First Friday evening of every month with the W-S Arts District "Gallery Hop".
The exhibit is free and open to the public.
