Artworks Gallery is presenting a two-person exhibit with acrylic paintings and digital prints by Lea Lackey-Zachmann and steel and wood sculpture by Don Green.

Lea Lackey-Zachmann is showing six large acrylic paintings and a few computer generated prints.  The pieces are inspired by the activity of looking through a microscope at enlarged microscopic forms.  They are colorful and sometimes lively or playful interpretations of minutia that replicate larger forms found in nature. Lackey-Zachmann has a BA from Winthrop University in Art and Art Education, and a MFA from UNC-G in Painting with a minor in Art History. She currently teaches at High Point University in the Art Department.

Don Green is showing four new Corten steel and concrete 2-3' outdoor sculpture, plus three earlier concrete and wood sculptures that relate to the current work of "geometric abstractions". Green was born in Chicago, has an Advertising and Design degree from the American Academy of Art in Chicago, a BFA from Illinois Wesleyan University, and a MFA from the University of Wisconsin at Madison. He established the Art Dept. at Methodist University in Cumberland County, NC, and worked as the Art Director at an Advertising Agency in Winston-Salem. He is now a full-time practicing artist, primarily doing sculpture but with some painting and printmaking included.

The reception is Sunday, February 25, 2-4pm.

Artworks Gallery is open the First Friday evening of every month with the W-S Arts District "Gallery Hop".

The exhibit is free and open to the public.
